Mike Stewart
Co-Founder · President
Mike Stewart is widely recognized as one of bodyboarding’s defining competitors and ambassadors. He brings an athlete’s understanding of what the sport requires at its highest level.
Terry “Teza” McKenna
Co-Founder · Treasurer
Terry “Teza” McKenna is widely regarded as a pivotal administrative and visionary force in professional bodyboarding, famously helping to transition the sport into what he termed a “sleeping giant of action sports.” His overarching contribution was treating bodyboarding not as a lesser sub-discipline of surfing, but as a distinct, elite, and hyper-athletic sport that deserved a premium global platform. He re-engineered the competitive heat formats, creating highly spectator-friendly and progressive rule sets designed to rival traditional extreme sports.
Ricardo Estupinan
Co-Founder · Director of European Operations
A prominent figure in Gran Canaria’s first generation of bodyboarders, Ricardo is a triple 90s European Champion and a co-founder of the Canary Surfing Federation. Alongside his athletic background, he holds a degree in Marketing and E-business from the University of Gloucestershire (UK). Today, Ricardo remains highly active in the community, combining his passion for bodyboarding and photography with his role as an official commentator and streamer for premier events like the El Quemao Class and the ETB Tour.
Art Fisher
Co-Founder · Legal Counsel
Art Fisher currently serves as legal counsel to APB. As a founding board member, he is deeply dedicated to the well-being and future of bodyboarding. He once entered a contest and progressed through to the second round before being eliminated and retiring from competition. His home-zones encompass the U.S. regions of NorCal and Oregon, with aspirations for global travel.
Isabela Sousa
Co-Founder
Isabela Sousa is a Brazilian professional bodyboarder and five-time World Champion. Throughout her career, she has won some of the sport’s most prestigious events, including Pipeline, Hawaii, Arica, Chile, and competitions in Australia. Having lived in Brazil, Portugal, Spain, and now Australia, she combines an international competitive career with creating educational bodyboarding content and coaching athletes through her online programs.
